Andrew Adams Pipe Band Drum Lessons and Workshops

About Me

I am currently a snare drummer with two pipebands.  I play locally with the Police Pipes and Drums of Plattsburgh, NY and nationally with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Air and Marine's (OAM) Pipes and Drums Honor Guard.

The Police Pipes and Drums band has a pretty busy parade schedule during the year.  The first parade of the year is always the Saranac Lake Winter Festival parade held in February!  It's a big parade with a great crowd but, it is ALWAYS extremely cold.

The OAM Pipeband plays in a combined CBP Pipeband for Police Week in Washington, D.C. every year in May.  We generally play for funerals, conferences and other formal government events.

I started pipeband drumming in 2010.  Before that I was a drummer in Middle and Highschool playing the matched grip style.  I had a good 25 year gap in my drumming before starting up again with the Scottish style of drumming.  I'm enjoying it a lot.  Where else can an adult get to play drums in a marching band?

Greg,

It was great to chat with you as well. Yes, the bass is at Bflat and the tenors (16") should be at F. The Korg tuner is the way to go. That's the exact tuner that I use.

As I said on Friday, don't hesitate to email me with any questions. I'm happy to help in any way I can.

Andrew
